Victoria needs a Commissioner for Victims Rights. South Australia has Michael O'Connor who on 17 July 2008 became the Commissioner for Victims Rights under the Victims Crime Act 2001, Division2, sections16-16f. Michael Advocates on behalf of Victims, and assists Victims. He is an independent voice for Victims of Crime.
